I received the Provost's Study in a Second Discipline Fellowship (UGA) for SP 2021 in preparation for my second book project, A Century of Orientalist German Film and Media. The Fellowship will allow me to read and gain expertise in art historical scholarship and research with guidance from faculty of the Lamar Dodd School of Art, Department of Art History at UGA! As a fellow, I will lay the foundation for my second book.
I was selected a Berlin Fellow of the 3rd annual seminar in Transnational European Studies in Berlin, for May/June 2020. The seminar is a co-venture by Franklin College/UGA and Notre Dame University for selected faculty and grad students.
My application for a "Willson Center Distinguished Artist/Lecturer" funding for Fall 2021 was successful! These funds will help to organize the campus visit of Nigerian-German filmmaker Sheri Hagen at UGA and the screening of her award-winning feature Auf den zweiten Blick.
